MEET THE SEAMSTRESS
Hello! I’m Carrie, I’m a bridal and occasion wear seamstress based in the heart of historic Chester. I graduated Rose Bruford College, London, with a first class honours degree in Costume Production, in 2011, and went straight into prom dress alterations. I now have over 14 years experience in the dressmaking and alterations industry, covering wedding dresses, bridesmaids, prom and much more.
I have worked in-house for various boutiques over the years but have now set up my own little studio. I come highly recommended by local bridal stores: Brides of Chester, My Funny Valentine and Along Came Eve, and have good connections with all three. I also welcome dresses from shops all around the North Wales/Cheshire area including Wed2B, Bridal Reloved and Love Bridal Boutique, and have even worked on couture designer dresses such as Halfpenny London.
I am an expert in wedding dress alterations and really know my stuff! I can solve most issues and love a challenge! I work with a lot of ex-sample dresses and have mastered the art of re-sizing while maintaining the original style of the gown. I also offer bespoke services including custom veils, toppers and sleeves, and personalised by-hand embroidery.

Upon meeting Carrie for the first time she was very warm, welcoming and an easy going person. She put me at ease throughout the experience and was very open to ideas. She was especially patient with me when I asked for a last minute change only a few days before I was due to collect my dress which I was very grateful for.
